Targets

Resolve named infrastructure targets using connected providers.

VerifiedSource snapshot · 2026-10-02

Resolve before acting#

The generic targets.resolve tool uses connected provider target discovery to return resolved, ambiguous or not-found outcomes. It does not invent endpoint IDs or create missing provider capabilities.

Permissions#

The generic permission is targets.resolve. Runtime resolver/provider read permissions can also be required for the selected provider/kind. Use an exact already-established candidate or clarify ambiguity before constructing a consequential execution.

Exact registered tools#

targets.resolvetargets.resolve

Resolve one or many logical target references in one call using the registered provider plugins. Reuse only confirmed top-level targets as exact IDs in operational tools. For a named container and its members, create one container selector and set desired_kind to the member kind instead of repeating the container name in a second selector.

Registration: RiskLevel.READ / ApprovalMode.NEVER · enabled

resolved target payload with confirmation/ambiguity information Runtime RBAC can raise deny or force approval even where metadata says NEVER/POLICY; static metadata is not final policy.
