Verified current behavior#
YAADMIN has separate application and web entry points, configurable runtime/provider settings, persistent SQLite stores and a Windows-oriented secret protection implementation. Web HTTPS setup can generate a local CA and a server certificate/key.
The module package mechanism is separate from installing YAADMIN itself. See Install modules for that verified flow.
Platform considerations#
Protected production settings use Windows CurrentUser DPAPI. Creating the default protector fails on non-Windows systems; a portable production encryption fallback is not verified. AD operations also depend on the configured Windows/AD environment.
Installer distribution#
Before using an existing deployment#
- Confirm the deployment's access address with its administrator.
- Use its local recovery administrator or configured AD login.
- Review HTTPS/certificate configuration before handling credentials.
- Confirm provider health before requesting external operations.
Next step#
Continue with First run and Getting started. Update packages have a separate validation/staging foundation; they are not a complete application installer. See Update Manager.
